Norwegian Rock Master

Posted By Steve Mc Clure the 2010-09-01 Picture - Ivo Ninov - Five Ten The Nordic countries are awesome, and the people are always super nice. This year I’ll be in Denmark twice and Norway twice, mainly for work, but way back in February I was invited to take part in the Norwegian Rock Masters Competition. So my level of psyche has varied a lot! Of course I was keen, it’s Norway , it’ll be great, but hang on, the wads are going, and anyway I hate comps, maybe not for me!! But it’s on real rock and ...

Outdoor Games with the Golgoht

Posted By Liv Sansoz the 2010-07-29 A few words about the amazing week we had during the Nissan Outdoor Games in Chamonix. The concept : five teams have to make a five minutes film showing five outdoor activities in five days. This year, I took part in the event with the Golgoht team, from Finland. And that was awesome ! First of all the Finnish crew was just the coolest guys to work and hang out with. They drove all the way down to Chamonix from Helsinki in their old huge pink bus. The coolest bus I have

the right time

Image from Google Posted By Said Belhaj the 2010-07-22 bouldering at Vetteberget, Fjllbacka with a sauna near the ocean and a BBQ waiting There are some periods of the year when I really prefer to be anywhere but in Sweden. The summer is generally not that time: the weather is perfect, the ocean warm enough for a swim after climbing as you are almost always climbing on walking distance from the ocean or in worst case a lake. The sun sets at around 11 p.m. so you have plenty of time also for the late BBQ. So I've been doing

A Very Strong Team

Image from Google Posted By Steve Mc Clure the 2010-07-16 The team gathered on Saturday morning and boarded their coach. 24 climbers, including some of Britain ’s best, Nick Sellars, Ryan Pasquil, Neil Mawson, Paul Smitton, Sam Whittacker and Myself. That’s a fair collection of E9’s and 8c’s in there. The destination? Not a day’s climbing! Too hot for that, and way too humid. Instead it was an all day dance festival – ‘Cocoon in the park’. After last years great success it was back again, but bigger and better, with

the final

Image from Google Posted By Said Belhaj the 2010-07-05 It was time: after about 3,5 months on the road the time was right to start driving north, back to Sweden. The heat was rising -a good sign it was time to start looking for cooler temps somewhere else! Also, you never get that real rest on the road, I was missing my own bed! After around 100 routes of 8a-8c+ done on the trip it was time to change the rythm. I want to do some traing to gain some more power and I want to do (or at least try) all the routes I bolted last

News from Himalaya

Image from Google Posted By Mike Horn the 2010-06-23 "The YEP's and I have parted company now. After doing the summit 'Pangaea Peak', they joined myself and Kbi to the base camp of Broad Peak where they were able to see the K2 Memorial - a touching memorial for all those alpinists who had lost their lives to the mountain. Our last night together with the Young Explorer's was spent in a large dome tent where we chatted about our adventure and shared our emotions and impressions of the last two weeks we had spent together.
